Anthology submission: IN THE TELLING – forthcoming poetry anthology from Cinnamon Press, edited by Gail Ashton and Susan Richardson Gail and Sue would like to say a huge thank you to the many poets who sent us their work for this forthcoming volume. The response has been overwhelming which means we have a fabulous range of high quality work from which to make our selections. We are currently working on that aspect and ask all of those who submitted to bear with us a little longer. We know many of you will be rightly eager to know the fate of your poems and will endeavour to respond to every one of you as soon as we can. Our working deadline is the end of June. In the meantime, please be patient and wait to hear from us. Once again, many thanks to you all. by March 31st 2008. due to the high volume of submissions we are only able to read and reply to those that follow all guidelines Unsolicited Submissions Due to the huge rise in unsolicited submissions we regret that we will not be able to process unsolicited manuscripts for the next several months. If you have a manuscript which you think will fit our list please send a query email outlining your project and writing CV before sending any material. Submissions Policy We maintain an open submissions policy for poetry collections, full length fiction and some non fiction. We will consider work from authors living across the UK or the world, but are also committed to promoting authors from Wales. Cinnamon Press books are not defined by genre, but by their unique ability to be thought provoking and enjoyable. If you have an unpublished book (whether its poetry, full length fiction or non-fiction):
Please bear in mind that we are a small press, so we need to have a thorough submissions policy so as not to waste your time as a potential author and to make best use of our resources. We select books on the basis of their innovative qualities and ability to bring a new perspective to as wide an audience as possible. We publish books that we enjoy, feel we can fully promote and always aim to develop good relationships with authors. What not to Send: Please don't send us your full manuscript unless we request it after seeing your initial submission. We do not publish short stories (except through our competition) or fiction that is primarily erotica, horror or crime based in genre. We do not publish fiction for younger children, though we are willing to consider well written novels for older children/teens. We do not publish

For Poetry: Poetry collections are not big sellers, but at Cinnamon Press, poetry is our passions and we believe in doing all that we can to support new voices in poetry and to promote established poets. For Full Length Fiction The kinds of novels that we want to publish at Cinnamon Press are not only well written, but also unique, imaginative and affecting. We are interested in publishing both new and published authors. We are interested in publishing the work of people who are prepared to be pro-active in getting attention for their books - if you are prepared to do readings, attend literature festivals or talk about your novel on local or national radio etc then your book will reach a much wider audience. For Non Fiction The kinds of non fiction books that we want to publish at Cinnamon Press are well written, unique, enjoyable, and thought provoking. We do not publish purely academic or obscure books; your book should have a wide appeal to its target audience and should be a title that can be widely publicised. We are interested in publishing the work of people who are prepared to be pro-active in getting attention for their books - if you are prepared to talk about your book to local or national media or have contacts with your target audience then your book will reach a much wider audience. So far our non-fiction titles have focused on alternative parenting and memoir, but we are open to book ideas in a wide range of areas. Please send:
